A friend from Hong Kong recently asked me in the chat, if I’d be interested in a crazy idea. Even though I’ve been busy, I took a chance and listened to her. Actually it was so crazy, that I loved it.

She was about to collect chinese songs, sang by foreigners which learn mandarin or cantonese. Other people will have to guess the song. The conditions were simple. Everything has been allowed but the melody itself.
So sometimes, or better say, quite often, I’ll sing a few melodies or songs while at work or on the way back home. Even though I can’t sing well in mandarn I took part in her idea and sent her a few short tracks containing the refrain. (which I’m not sharing with you, too embarrassing 😛 )

Actually she was surprised how well my mandarin was compared to other people’s. Even though I recorded it on the computer several times to get it right, it took me all my guts to sing out loud. I even begann to feel tingling in my fingers. In the end it was fun afterall. Besides that, it cleared my head a little bit because of all the stress at work the last few days.
