Two weeks are over now. Last time I took actions for Chinese and learned approximately 30 new words including about 40 new symbols. This time I did not take the book but instead I used some Chinese written sentences from the last chat conversation I had. Just five lines of text but it took me nearly an 3/4 hour to extract them all from the dictionary. If you don’t know the pronunciation of the word, you have to find out the radical of the symbol, then you add the rest of the strokes and look in a list to get the page number pf the actual word.

I think the most difficult were 鼓励(gǔlì – to encourage)， 支持(zhīchí – to support)，帮助(bāngzhù- help,Noun)，更加(gèngjiā – even more)， 努力(nǔlì – effort). Especially the first mentioned had all meanings to a close subject where I had slight troubles keeping them apart.

Then this week I had less time for study because I’ve been sent on a schooling for a CAD program. Two days a crash course in nearly all functions the software has to offer. Actually my skills were quite advanced already and my superior knew that but in these days every certificate is a valuable piece of paper in some one’s dossier. After the first day I had the opportunity to visit the town of Nördlingen. Actually it’s a very nice town and I took the opportunity for taking some photos.
And yesterday, a friend of the NUlm3D project notified me, that we had a mail from a google 3D specialist. It’s quite interesting, that she found out of our project because of our public library 3D model for Google Earth. Well she thought already that we might be dead by now but for her relief I answered as she was offering some interesting info about PR and support. Maybe it’s the chance to revive the project again even if spare time is very valuable for me. But I’m sure I can pinch off some during Weekend and my partner would be glad to get back to work again. We both now will have a meeting with her next week in town and listen what she has to offer.

The week is nearly over but tomorrow I’ll be back at the desk in the afternoon for the next vocabulary and exercises again.
